Givebox Spotlight – Battle 22

Givebox Spotlight -Battle 22

We spoke with Battle 22’s Executive Director to learn more about the critical work they are doing to help veterans heal.

How does your organization make a difference?

“Battle 22 is a nonprofit organization that helps veterans returning home with PTSD and those fighting suicide by providing the opportunity to heal through therapeutic activities.

We are about prevention and awareness, healing through camaraderie with like-minded battle buddies. We offer activities including hunting, water skiing, off-roading, hiking, camping, fishing, and more in some of the most beautiful places
America has to offer.”

Can you share a bit about how the organization was started?

“I served 19 years in the military before being medically retired. I witnessed many of my friends return home from war to a battle in their minds.

After watching my battle buddy, Ronnie lose his fight with his demons, I knew I wanted to do something to make a difference for others dealing with PTSD and suicidal thoughts. That’s when I developed and began working on Battle 22.

22 veterans die by suicide daily, and I needed to do something to help those fighting on the battlefield in their head.”

Can you share a bit about your upcoming campaign?

“In order to raise awareness and funds to support the therapeutic activities we offer to veterans, I have decided to raffle off my personal 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special.”

How can our readers support your mission?

“Supporters can purchase a $1 raffle ticket for the 2020 Harley Davidson by visiting https://givebox.com/2020RGS. In addition, we sell merchandise on our website, and all profits directly fund our programs – please visit battle22.com for more information.”
