6 Tips to Make Your #GivingTuesday Campaign a Success

In 2019, #GivingTuesday campaigns brought in over $1.9 billion in donations. Since the movement started in 2012, the total amount donated has increased every year. These two statistics prove the power of this day and the continued momentum it carries.

If you are thinking about creating a #GivingTuesday campaign this year, we’ve got some tips to help you ensure its success!

1. Optimize Your Donation Page to Convert

Well, first, we recommend creating a branded donation page dedicated to your #GivingTuesday campaign. Additionally, when donors arrive at your campaign page, they should be able to easily find what your organization does and how their dollars will make a difference. Lastly, make sure the campaign page is easy to navigate and accessible from all devices.

2.Set a Goal

Whenever planning a fundraiser, we recommend setting fundraising goals internally, but with certain campaigns, it can be beneficial to share a realistic and well thought out goal with the public. #GivingTuesday is one of those campaigns – publicly sharing the campaign goal will create a sense of urgency, build excitement and community, and provide you the opportunity to make some day-of marketing efforts around campaign benchmarks.

3. Begin Marketing Early

We recommend using a multi-channel approach and beginning marketing for your campaign 5-7 days before #GivingTuesday. Be very clear in all communication efforts, and use engaging video or graphics to make the campaign more inviting.

4. Engage Board Members, Volunteers, + Organization Ambassadors

Expand the campaign’s reach by creating a campaign outreach kit and asking board members, volunteers, and other organization ambassadors to engage their networks.

5. Find Corporate Partners

Talk to corporations and small businesses about partnering for #GivingTuesday. Ask them to provide a matching gift, help with campaign promotion, and/or to engage their staff/customers in the campaign.

6. Say Thank You

As with all fundraising efforts, we recommend showing supporters they are appreciated by sending them a personalized thank you!
